Frequently Asked Questions

We strive to be as transparent as possible. If you have read through our Bylaws and this FAQ section and you have more questions or would like a specific topic elaborated on. Please contact us. You are always welcome to join our committee meetings.

  • Resident vs. Non-resident | ARD requires our club to have a price difference for residents and non-residence. Basically, if you are paying ARD taxes you are a “resident”. Your mailing address will verify. If you are located in the city limits of Auburn or the un-incorporated area and you pay ARD taxes- you are a resident. If you are South of Auburn and NOT in the city limits, you are likely NOT a resident. If you are north of the Dry Creek/49 corridor you are likely NOT a resident. Lake of the Pines area is a non-resident. Meadow Vista is considered “resident” because you do pay ARD taxes.

  • The paddle bands have arrived. They will be handed out during indoor play at Recreation gym. If you’ve joined the leagues, you will get yours on Tuesday or Sunday. Please text me before making a special trip to pick up your paddle band. Barbara 530-320-8424.

  • Open play is when everyone gets to play with different players. Simply put your paddle in the rack and wait for your group of 4.

  • Yes! Sign up for lessons with APC Teaching Pro John Hendrickson through Play Time Scheduler or email johndink@gmail.com

  • You do not to become a member to play pickleball. All outdoor courts are free to the public. Indoor courts require a membership or a wristband.

  • Wristbands can be purchased at the ARD office located at 123 Recreation Drive.

  • The Ladies League offers competitive matches Tuesday evenings. A group of 4 ladies play 3 matches to 15. Scores are tallied and you move up or down the following Tuesday. This is a 10 week commitment.

  • Individual men and women sign and are paired with a partner of similar rating. 4 people play 3 games to 15 points. Scores are tallied and players move up or down to play the following Sunday. This is a 10 week commitment.

  • There is currently no league for men. If you are interested helping start one, please let us know.

  • Play Time Scheduler does not guarantee you a court. If the courts are full, add your paddles to the paddle rack. Once a game is finished, that team leaves the court and puts their paddles in the rack and the next 4 go in. These Rules of Etiquette are posted at Regional pickleball courts.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

  • The project has been pushed out to spring 2024. The anticipated construction is May/June.

  • DUPR Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating is a global rating system.

This rating system offers a real-time, accurate measure of a player's skill level. DUPR dynamically adjusts a player's rating after each match, factoring in the outcome, the opponent's rating, and the match type. It works on a 2.000-8.000 scale, with higher numbers indicating more advanced skill.

Your DUPR Calculation: Margin of Victory + Type of Result + Outcome.

How do I play a DUPR game?

    Download the app.

Find 3 other players who agree to play a DUPR game.

One player enters your scores and another player will verify the scores.

These matches can be played anytime and anywhere.
